My name is Rosslyn Whellams and I am a qualified and experienced Coach specialising in Therapeutic Coaching. I use my experience and training in Emotional Health Coaching, Counselling and Psychotherapy to create bespoke tailor made sessions and programs in order to meet the individual needs of all of my clients.  I have experience working with all ages of people with many different issues and needs in my private practice.

As well as this in my role as a Therapeutic Coach for the NHS I help and support children and teenagers between the ages of 4 to 18 many of whom suffer from anxiety, low self confidence, low self esteem, emotional overwhelm, ADHD and ASD. When working with children I also provide individual sessions to their families so they can benefit from the techniques and guidance as well as better support their children during their therapeutic journey.

What is Therapeutic Coaching?

​

Therapeutic Coaching decreases feelings of dissatisfaction, stress, low mood, anxiety and fears by increasing and nurturing characteristics such as self esteem, self confidence, resilience and emotional control. This is achieved using client centred talking therapy including techniques from Empowerment Coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness and the new ground breaking are of Positive Psychology in order to help you to achieve your mental and emotional health goals leading to long term emotional Empowerment! Once this has been achieved it will improve areas of your life such as lifestyle, career, professional development, relationships, personal development, family, life satisfaction and overall sense of fulfilment.

What do sessions and programs consist of?

​

I offer 8 and 6 week Coaching programs. Each session lasts for one hour and there will be a free booster session provided after the completion of the course. The 6 week program is a shorter course than the full 8 week course and has been designed for people that may have a pre existing knowledge of Psychological techniques or have been through a therapy, counselling or coaching program before and may want a refresher or to improve or update their knowledge and skills. I also offer individual one to one sessions which can be booked individually or as a discounted set of 4 hours.

Goal of Therapeutic Coaching

I truly believe that our mental health is just as important as our physical health and having worked with many different people with a variety of goals I am passionate about helping you to achieve your full empowerment. Our mental health is just like our weight or intelligence… it takes work! We all deserve to feel good about ourselves both mentally and physically but sometimes we all just need a little help and guidance.

My Therapeutic Coaching sessions do not just diagnose problems, like other therapies, I focus on giving you the knowledge and tools you need to over come them not just now but in the future!

Improving Emotional Control

Having a high level of emotional control allows us to take responsibility of our thoughts, feelings and actions. This allows us to regulate, perceive and react to situations in a more realistic, rational and Psychologically healthy way. It is key to our feelings of empowerment as we are in control of the situation itself.

Increasing Resilience

Resilience is our ability to face, adapt to and overcome situations or events that are new, challenging or stressful and overcome them.  By increasing this it decreases our feelings of being powerless which can lead to stress, anxiety and low mood

Improving Self Esteem and confidence

Self esteem is the overall evaluation (either positive or negative) you have on yourself. It is based on self evaluation not on particular tasks and is directly related to core beliefs you have about yourself. Self confidence is our belief in our own abilities. These factors are a cornerstone of our feelings of empowerment as having high levels makes us feel more in control and capable of facing difficult situations while having faith in ourselves to be able to overcome them.
